Eugene T. Hartzell
Self-employed window washer

Former Ypsilanti, Mich., resident, Eugene T. Hartzell, 79, of Autumnwood Care Center, where he had been a resident since 1984, died at 6:25 p.m. Friday, June 7, 1991, in Mercy Hospital.

He was born Feb. 20, 1912, in Tiffin, to Thomas H. and Rosalie (Reiniche) Hartzell.

Surviving are three sons, Thomas of Seatle, Wash., Richard of Tacoma, Wash., and Harry of Brighton, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Charlene Sandidge and Mrs. Mary Jane Miller, both of Tacoma, and Mrs. Sandri Sambouirne of Federal Way, Wash.; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Victor Hartzell of Defiance and Robert J. Hartzell of Tiffin; and two sisters, Mrs. Eugene (Mary) Elchert and Mrs. Paul (Ellen) Elchert, both of Tiffin.

Two brothers, Harry and Brother Cesaire, and a sister, Regina Beat, are deceased.

Mr. Hartzell, a self-employed window washer, was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.

A funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, where the rosary will be prayed at 9:45 a.m. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Hannay-Nemith Mortuary, where a wake service will be at 7:30 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Renovation Fund.
