ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Harrison William Hartzell was born Dec. 25, 1841 in Lehigh Co., PA,
the son of Reuben & Sarah (Shifford) Hartzell. In 1848 the family relocated
to Tiffin, Ohio. His mother died there in 1851. As a teenager he spent
much of his time working as a farm hand on various farms. His brother,
James enlisted in the 123rd OVI and was killed in the Battle of Opequan
(3rd Winchester) on Sept. 19, 1864.
